Qigong is one of the most ancient life-prolonging techniques and an important part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The first exercises are said to have originated over 12,000 years ago.

Those who practise Qigong regularly nurture their body, mind and soul and feel physically and mentally/emotionally fit and balanced. The gentle exercises have a harmonizing effect on the life energy Qi as well as on the forces of Yin and Yang and the 5 elements within us.

Practicing Qigong and eating a balanced diet according to the Yin-Yang principle has always been considered a prerequisite for good health and a long life.

At TCW, everything revolves around the "golden mean". Nothing should be too much and nothing too little. Harmony, equilibrium and balance are the goal.

Qigong exercises can be used to balance the forces of the 5 elements. Each element is assigned certain characteristics that behave similarly on an energetic level. Just as in nature, the 5 elements also have an effect on people. If all 5 elements are balanced, the human being is in balance, if one element takes over or is blocked, disorders and illness can develop.

Each element is assigned 2 organs, a yin and a yang organ - e.g. yin wood stands for liver and yang wood for the gall bladder. A disorder in the wood element is then referred to as a liver-gallbladder disorder, which does not refer to an organ but to a functional cycle and, in addition to the organs, also includes psychological and mental factors, body tissue, sensory organs, etc.

Balance can be restored through Qigong exercises. For example, you can generally balance the elements of a day. You can find instructions for this every day in the calendar.
